Wow...Super Rare '72 Lemans, #s 400/M22 4-sp, Orig Owner
Talk about a rare car with a great story, great docs, and great options. Original owner opted for the 400 and M22 in the Lemans, as he was sure a GTO would have been stolen from the NY streets.
Traded in a '70 383 Cuda for it. Link to 1972 Orig Owner Lemans auction Last edited by scuncio; 01-31-2019 at 02:39 AM. |

That dealership was right on Hempstead Tpke, which was one of the "woodward avenues" back in the day. MANY street races took place on that road, myself involved in a lot of them

scuncio, I'm a sucker for "less desirable" models, love it!
What's your take on the headliner? Looks like more than just a little mold based on the color. Would you expect to find some significant issues underneath? |

Not sure what others think - but if not from a leaky window/roof most of the time those headliner stains are from rodent urine. |

My guess is the roof insulation / sound proofing tar paper has come loose & is laying on the headliner , causing it to discolor . Same with the sail panels , the cardboard is bleeding through .

Interesting! I don't see any obvious rust issues on the outside of the panels, so I suppose that's good! |
