Default 69 Camaro decode help needed

a customer purchased a 69 Camaro convertible that is supposed to be a SS numbers matching car. he asked about doing a LS engine swap but if it is a legit numbers matching SS he will not do the swap. I told him I know Gen-2 Camaro's but I am clueless when it comes to a 69, The car has drum brakes in the front, I thought 69 SS cars had disk but I am not 100 percent positive about that. Hear are the numbers he managed to get off of it. The car is a 06A Norwood build and there are no X codes on the trim tag. Thanks..
Mark

ENGINE- Front Pad T0819HD (No VIN)
TRANS- Stamp on Pan Y0M07N

You're correct; power front disc brakes were included with Camaro SS. An 06A SS convert would have a trim tag X code: X11 or X55 [SS350] X22 or X66 [SS396].

It is not an SS.

You don’t give a whole lot to go by. The engine is most likely a 1969 350-250 h.p. With TH350(which could be the born with engine? But doubtful with an August 19 th build date). This was an optional engine, RPO L65, a low compression 2 bbl offered starting in January of ‘69, not to be confused with the LM1 that was a 4 bbl 350-255 HP discontinued in January ‘69. Or, it could be a 1966 327-350 h.p., which shares the same HD suffix code as the aforementioned L65 350-250. The 327 is a desirable high performance block. There is one other HD coded 327 with power glide from 1965, but that is all the information available n that engine. I would venture to guess that when you say it has no VIN, you are just not looking in the right place? Have you looked at the pad by he oil filter?

The transmission you don’t mention if it is an automatic, but if it has a “pan”, I assume that it is? 1st determine if it is a power glide or TH350. Then, clean the pan more and a partial VIN may appear readable. A couple of other places the partial VIN may be is along the flange that bolts to the block and on along the area where the converter dust cover bolts to. http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#PartialVINs

Am curious about the lack of any X-code on the cowl tag.
Per CRG in the 'cowl tag decode' section:
Quote:
A few mid-year 69's, mostly convertibles, did not have X-codes stamped on the cowl tag. It is unknown why the code was not stamped on the tag.
Would a June car would be considered beyond that 'mid-year' period?

Ive seen quite a few 69 NOR Convertible tags without X codes. This falls in that category. Whats the VIN?

HD on the engine is a 69 350/250hp L65 with auto trans
Aug 19 build

Pretty sure the trans code is a Turbo 350 made in Aug of 69

Current BOK has X44 no longer being used on Norwood convertible body tags as of March, 1969. We don't know why.

If the VIN prefix is 123679N, it was a 6 cylinder.

Hear is a picture of the engine, trans and trim tag. I can’t find a VIN stamped on the engine anywhere.

VIN-124679N6506XX
