Default Day 2 Slicks

I'm going the Day 2 route with my 70 Chevelle convertible. I was wondering which slicks would be the best Day 2 option for my car. I'm running 15x4 Cragars up front and 15x8 steelies in the rear. Thanks in advance.

Finding a great pair of vintage slicks is a challenge. Certainly rewarding if you hold out long enough and have success with good rubber. I would encourage you to keep searching and post up what you find. There were plenty of 14" slicks back then too, so if you are flexible on the rim diameter- it will open some options up to you.

M&H also makes a modern made "nostalgic" slick, but I think it might be a bit small for your Chevelle.

This is what my '69 Chevelle was raced with back in the late 60s early 70s. Original owner told me he used M&H slicks that were 29.5" tall on a 15" rim. Good thing is they reproduce them today in a cheater slick with the same dimensions. They have 14" too, but the 15" fills the rear well real nice.

I have to ask, are you planning to drive around on these slicks or are these for static display?

That's exactly the setup I was looking at. The picture of your car is amazing. The slicks will see some street use, not very much. I have a more street friendly combo also.

You don't see these every day. They pre-date most of the cars that are popular on this website though.

They'd go great with Mick's Biscayne though
