'69 Bel Air, 427/425hp M22 Claimed #s Car
Love this one...although the pics are crappy enough that I can't make out whether the block stamp is legit. First impression is the broach marks don't look to be there but I could use some better pictures.

Subject VIN 155119D052296 Cool car but 55 Vin indicates BelAir 6-Banger...regardless of firewall shoe polish. Goofy too is the TT has the 56 for a V8 car, like the Nova tags but in reverse or? ~ Pete .

Looks like they changed the price and description from what I can remember. Stamp fooled me other than the lack of broach marks. Stampers are getting too good.

It would be nice to post a list of all the known engine re-stampers with their names clearly posted. They are indeed getting much better. To me the ONLY reason to restamp an engine and make it undetectable is to take advantage of others in the interest of money.

Sold for 30K at Mecum. I don't know big cars but 6 cylinder cars usually show a V8 body style on the trim tag regardless of the engine size.

Duh, can't believe I missed the 6-cyl VIN.
Marc C. also sent me pics of a legit LD block...definitely some differences. |
