Those look great. I really need to swap out my 15x10's for 15x8's on the rear and 15x7's for 14x6 for the front. The look is so much nicer.

Another update on my pressure plate issue.....the McLeod pressure plate they they adjusted for me worked fine for normal driving but when at a dead stop and launching the car, on the street mind you, it slipped.....AGAIN. Apparently the 2800 pound clamping force, that they guaranteed to work, isn’t enough!!! So, I’m getting a refund on the pressure plate as soon as I take it out and send it back to them.

Now, after a lot of research and talking with a new company, Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT), out of Lancaster, CA, has a diaphragm pressure plate and organic disc that has 3900 pounds of clamping force. Stock is about 3000 pounds. I should be getting it later next week because they have to make the disc and it takes 3-4 days to get to Wisconsin from California.

This kit should work........keep your fingers crossed!!!

The ACT clutch kit is on its way.....I should get it by the end of this week or early next week.

On a side note......I’m still fighting a gremlin with what I believe to be an ignition problem. I thought I had it solved when I eliminated the CDI box but it’s acting up again. It started fine this spring but anytime I get the rpms up over 4000 or the secondaries kick it, it spits, sputters and sometimes backfires. The other day, I barely got it home......had to keep the rpms up over 1500 to keep it running.

I talked with a friend today (electrical genius) and he said since my Mallory Unilite distributor is old, that the ignition module might be bad....especially since I’ve replaced and/or eliminated everything else. He said he had the same thing happen to him and that was his issue.

So I took the distributor cap off and found an e-clip sitting in the distributor, I have no idea where that came from or where it goes/went. I then took the distributor out to make sure I ordered the correct ignition module and noticed the shaft was moving up and down quite a bit. As I spun it, I noticed the head of a screw was marred up from hitting/rubbing on something.....like the bottom of the plate where the module bolts to. So I bit the bullitt and ordered a new distributor, new Comp Cams composite gear among other things for the clutch replacement.

When I get the distributor installed, EVERYTHING for my ignition will be new!!! $$$$$$$

Let’s hope this resolve this issue.......I need to have it running good for the NOCC show or Dan will be upset.......and we don’t want to do that!!!

You have 2 months.....you have plenty of time.
Sounds like you have already found the problem

So, I had to wait for the correct distributor gear as I ordered exactly what I had on the old distributor, which is the same part number. Well the old distributor has a .491 diameter shaft and the new one is .500. 😡

I actually read the instructions on the wiring and it said to install a 1.6 ohm resistor.....although my old one didn't need one. So I ordered that too and installed it along with the correct distributor gear. It started right up and seems to run good. I need to set the timing tomorrow. “Maybe” take it for a spin too!!!
