Default Tire age

Can anyone help me determine the age of my tires? They are bias ply redlines

DOT CYLD. F1K5227

I assume these are repos, just don't know how old and if I should trust driving on them. They appear to be in good shape. Thanks. Dan.

That is the old DOT numbering system. Automatically, I would find different tires to drive on.

As to longevity of tires I will say this. The 68 Camaro I bought came with a stack of receipts. It had Cooper Cobra purchased in 1989. They were so old they didn't have the snake on them. They were still going strong when I sold the car in 2015. I also abused those tires with a 410 rear end every weekend. Best tires I ever had AND they refused to shred its tread. One caveat though. The car was always garaged and out of the sunlight all those years. I will always buy Cooper Cobras!
