15 x 7 Torque Thrust D
Folks, looking for fitment advice...I have a 69 Nova SS. I want to run 15 x 7 torque thrust D wheels. Tires will either be a 215 75 15 or 225 70 15.
Any interference issues? Anyone running this combination? Thanks. Dan |

F or G70-15 Polyglas would look awesome. G70-15 are a tall tire...

Nova do not like 15 inch tires in front they will rub unless the front end is lifted.

FWIW, I'm running 14" x 7" (Vintage)Torque Thrusts on my '69 Nova with F70s. The wheels have a 1½" positive offset. I have to run air shocks on the rear to clear the outer right side wheel well lip. I was told by a knowledgeable Nova guy from Iowa that I would have clearance issues, most likely on the Right side,..... and as usual, he was right.

these are 15X7 D's on my 68. The front tires are 215/65 and the rear are 245/60. I trimmed the rear wheel lip slightly on both sides and raised the rear slightly with shackles (trimmed). The front end sits a little higher in last couple pics (on purpose because of deep oil pan) so obviously there was no rubbing then. If I remember correctly I removed the top bolt on both sides of the front wheel well before I raised front end. The tire rubbed that bolt so I eliminated the source of the problem.
Drove it hard through Deals Gap without issue. Tommy |
