I wonder if the body is twisted from the drag racing?

Maybe not a twisted body but my old survivor L78 had bent leaf springs where the traction bars contacted and a cracked Muncie aluminum case right where the countershaft pin bore was, next to the bell housing. I fixed them both and it was fine after that. The car was drag raced with slicks and launched a high RPM.

I don't want to slam the car, but I should mention as a heads-up to anyone that might be serious about the car.... I contacted the seller to get closeup photos of any paint issues and rust areas. Considering how good the car looks in the listed photos, there were a LOT more issues than I expected. Besides the obvious primer, a good portion of the car has received very poor spray-bomb touch-ups over peeling paint or surface rust, and the quarters are quite rusted behind both rear wheels.

The trim tag shows deluxe interior but the pics show a standard interior. Am I missing something?

Helmut, good to know, and I do see the rot issues on the quarters. Nevertheless, I think it's a pretty well preserved car all things considered, albeit you'd probably want to restore it eventually. Looks like the trans is also not the original unit.
