Default Early big block AOR timing cover?

Just looking for information on 2 used with no dile pin holes, I believe they early big block chevy timing covers. 1-8 inch and 1-7 inch. Were the 8 inch used only on 427 motors? And 7 inch on 396 motors? I am putting them up for sale and need to know they're correct applications.
