Default 67 Chevelle SS396 wheels

Restoring a 67 Chevelle SS396 and having trouble determining the correct wheels - steel vs. rallys; 14" or 15".

The car has front disc brakes so some say I should use 15" rallys. Others have told me I should use 15" steel wheels w'/dog dish hubs.

I can't find anything stating that front discs came with the SS package or were optional for all Chevelles. I did not see an RPO number for rallys in 67, much less 15" wheels at all so I don't know if the front discs were ordered for the car or came with the SS package (inquiring minds... doesn't really mattter).

Any help will be appreciated.

Joe

1967 was the first year front disc brakes were an option on the Chevelle. Part of the option was the inclusion of the rally wheels (14") which were not a separate option. No 15" wheels/tires until 1971 (standard on the SS)

14x6 DG wheels is what you will need. Only available with front disc brakes.
JHS if you have trouble finding them let me know.
Lee thanks for posting my L78. It has metallic brake lining.
The El Camino has disc brakes and the DG wheels.
