Default 1966 Corvette L-72 Restoration

To All,

I recently got involved helping a friend with the final assembly of his 1966 Corvette convertible he is restoring. I wanted to share the car with all of you. It's going to be a real neat piece when done. This car is scheduled to be at the Mecum Auction in St. Charles / Bloomington Gold.

1966 Corvette Convertible
2 Tops
Real Red / Red Vinyl car
Real side pipe car
Power Brakes
Real F40 suspension
Restoation Block with original CR Muncie and 4.11 Diff.

I have other photos before the car was painted that I will post later. These are what I had in my camera today.

Original CR Muncie transmission

Original 4.11 diff

Original trim tag

You can faintly see (in this picture) the crayon marking N14 indicating a side exhaust car. That is the original crayon marking. Also some of the original red overspray.

The body has yet to be wet sanded and buffed. But, here are some general photos right after the black out in the engine compartment and wheel wells. You can also see my other friend Rick taking photos, reproducing crayon marks, and drinking beer(not photgraphed )

Detail that is unique to side exhaust cars (factory rocker area)

The original dash before restoration

After a cut and buff, some assembly, I'll have the body drop for you next.

Tim

I did notice that beer perched upon the battery tray in the first series of photos. NOS beer I imagine with a real detachable pull tab, no doubt?
