I'm so glad you guys appreciate the old VWs, even though the Berlin Buick retains little of the air cooled charm. As a kid I rode around in my dad's 67 Beetle and was always curious when he was working on it. We always had a few of them laying around the yard and I developed my own VW collection by my late teens. I sold them all the week I brought home my first 68 Camaro. I rekindled the love when I started racing Formula Vee's in the early 2000's.

LOL

A lot of sleeper beetles out there. There are several running around our neck of the woods that'll embarrass some street cars. Doesn't take much to make them respectable. They only weigh 1500-1600 lbs. Pretty easy to make 150hp with a mild stroker, not much money to do it, and they turn into easy 12 or 13 second sleepers that are a ball of fun to drive.

I started out as a bug guy and still go to the vw shows when I can. The Motion Performance Mini VW stuff was always interesting to me as well.
