Chevelle help
working on a 68 ss 396 are these spacers correct for the rear coil springs

As far as I know those were only used to lift the rear of the car and were not factory installed.

No spacers from the factory. If the plate the spacer is on is flat, that axle is a '66 and older. I don't recognize the tab on the tube right behind the spring either as original.

ok I am more of a Camaro guy working on this 68 and it just look off to me any good sources for the original style springs
|

The springs are the correct style, but are old and tired and not strong enough to hold the weight of the car level, or they wanted to raise the back for tire clearance or appearance, so someone prior put those risers under them.
A better idea of what you have and what you want to do would help. A profile pic of the car and it's stance would be good.

coil springs
going back all stock original I guess we can try to remove the spacers and see if the car will have a better level stance this is how the car looked before taking it all apart for its restoration

Yep, all jacked up for tires and appearance. Removing the risers will drop it the same amount and it may sit too low then. New springs to correct that are cheap and readily available, once you get to that point...

coil springs
ok I just ordered some moog 6319 rear springs thanks for all the input I last question did the springs use the rubber insulators or just the springs by them self

the rubber goes on the top of the spring none on the bottom
