Default Alabama Deuce

Ken (Schonye) asked me to post some pics of this triple black 70 L78 Nova day 2 "Deuce". I'll let him fill in the rest of the story.

I got a call from Jeff Grady, the president of Eastern IA. novas shortly after the Heartland nova reunion. He said he had gotten a call from a lady in AL. that she had a nbrs matching 427 70 SS Nova and was looking to sell it. It was her husbands pride, and joy, but he had passed away several years ago, and she wanted to move along.

The nbrs match 427 obviously didn't sound right, but maybe a Motion, Harrell, dealer transplant. You never know. So in talking with the owner, I asked for the drive line nbrs, and while it's not a 427, it is a nbrs match L78 396 all original drive line M21 3.55 rear. Rear gears have been changed, but gear set is with the car.
I asked Tommy Turner if he was close to where the car was located, and he was so he was able to take a look at it for me to confirm the owners info. Without Tommy, this deal would not have happened, so my sincere thanks to him for all his help. Also thanks to Wheelhop. for bringing the car back from AL. Most likley the 1st time it's ever been out of AL.

The new owner is a Chicagoian transplanted to Texas. He's been looking for a car like this for a long time. Intends to restore it day2 including the dual carb setup. We're excited to see this car comining to IA. for the restoration. Hard to beat a black L78 day 2 Nova.

Wow! Even has the white traction bars like mine "Used" to have, along with a bunch of Day 2 stuff that I tossed. Hindsight is 20/20 for sure.

If those old tubes are not rusted they could be redone in white and look real good on that black car.
