If you still aren't convinced that you need to join us for the Tenth Anniversary Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, November 17-18, allow me to toss out a few more reasons;

Saturday Events;

PREMIER UNVEILINGS; 9:30 – 12:45 PM:

Kids FREE Scavenger Hunt and other Kids activities; All Day. Kids 14 and under can check in at the Information booth up front to pick up your scavenger hunt card and backpack. Hot Wheels Races, Model Car Make and Take, Hagerty Youth Judging, Coloring contest, all FREE for the kiddos! Hands-on Activities take place in our Kids Zone in the center hall, to the right of Muscle Bicycle display. Hagerty Youth Judging, Saturday only; check in at the Hagerty Insurance booth to the left of the Information booth.

Seminars and Panel Discussions; open to all spectators and participants, located on the Awards Stage in the Ballroom, far right side of the “big” room.

Special Thanks go out to our Presentation Coordinator, Jim Luikens, who is also the former Performance Parts Manager for Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In addition to overseeing our presentations, Jim will also participate in several.

12:00 Noon: How to find and purchase Rare and Desirable Muscle Cars, Presented by Joe Cheeks and Jim Luikens. Joe recently acquired what may be the finest 1970 LS6 Chevelle convertible in existence after over ten years of persistence. See how he builds relationships and networks to acquire some of the most sought after Muscle Cars and Corvettes.

1:00: Keeping Our Hobby Alive, and just added; THE Latest COPO News; Presented by Jim Mattison, known for his Pontiac Historical Services and a former General Motors COPO program employee shares our desire to make sure this hobby lives on. He will talk about what we can all do to draw interest for the younger folks. We will also have several very special guests. In addition, Jim will talk about some of the latest developments in General Motors COPO world, including new announcements direct from SEMA.

2:00: M.S.U. Project W-31 Panel discussion: Hosted by W-31 Geeks Ryan Weaver, Diego Rosenberg & Casey Marks. Hear about how a group of Michigan State University engineering students acquired a 1969 Olds W-31 and went racing. We have an entire group of the original team members joining us to share stories from “back in the day” from picking up the car to taking it to numerous races.

3:00: Photographing Your Car, Presented by David Newhart. David has authored numerous books and countless magazine features, and he is currently a staff photographer for Mecum Auctions. He will share insights and tips that we can all use. See what the magazines look for and learn what works…and what doesn’t.

4:00: Meet the Racers, Presented by Jim Kramer and Geoff Stunkard: We are honored to have a fine group of guys that originally raced and wrenched on the 1968 Hurst Hemi Darts and Barracudas. Moderated by noted author/photographer Geoff Stunkard and Jim Kramer, you will hear it from the source with special guests including Herb McCandless, Bucky Hess, Tom and Jim Tignanelli, Larry Griffith and others. Again, we allow you face to face direct access with the guys that were there!

5:00: Assembly Technology and the Tools Used To Build G.M. Cars: Presented by Richard E. Doyle and Phil Borris. There were countless special tools used to create the cars we love. With an emphasis the G.M. A-bodies, (Chevelles, Skylark, Cutlass GTO) Richard will show and explain why these tools are so important. Since he spent nearly his entire career at the Baltimore Assembly Plant, he has insight that is rarely shared and many of the actual tools used “back in the day”.

6:00 – 8:00: Live Music: Carmel Liburdi joins us from Detroit with her fun and quirky and insightful musical style. How about a bit of Grunge, Pop, Punk played on the acoustic! That is what you’ll see, and I guarantee you are going to love it as much as we do.

Walkarounds & Casual Q & A’s;

Plymouth Rapid Transit System & Dodge Scat Pack Original Photo and Advertising Art display, Presented by Jim Secreto & Ken Hanna. This incredible private collection includes numerous pre-production pieces including ads, photos and more. See how the ads and brochures we cover came to be. This display includes several controversial items that will clearly tell the story. Jim and Ken will explain what makes these pieces special and also what they mean. 2:00/5:00/7:00 pm.

The Bubble Cars: We are honored to host the Cougar II and the Bordinat Cobra Concept cars, direct from the Detroit Historical Museum. Meet Dave Marchione, who will tell you how these cars ended up with the DHS and why they are so special. 1:00/4:00/6:00 pm.

1968 Hurst/Olds Walkaround, Presented by Karl Sarpolis; Karl is an acknowledged authority of the first Hurst/Olds offerings. Take a walk around the ’68 H/O’s we have in our Class of 1968 area to see what makes these cars unique. Karl will also cover the interesting differences among these cars. 3:00/6:00pm.

Project W31 Team; Meet many of original team members who will be on hand throughout the weekend to share stories about this amazing program. You will find the guys in our huge Ram Rod & W31 Invitational display, Presented by Garner Customs & Restorations. Look for the big Team W31 banner! Saturday and Sunday.

4:00: TITAN LIFTS ROTISSERIE WINNER ANNOUNCED: On the awards stage during the Awards Presentation.

4:15: SCHELLINGER CUSTOM GUITAR GIVEAWAY WINNER ANNOUNCED: On the awards stage during the Awards Presentation.

Sunday the show closes at 5:00 pm.

Wow! what a schedule..

Richard Doyle is a treasure to our hobby. We have had him speak many times at the Northern Ohio Chevelle Club Show. He will set people straight with what they really did at the plant - especially the ones that tend to over restore. The cool part is that he and his Twin Brother still drive Chevelles!
