Default WTB - 1972 GM Seat Belt Buckle

A good buddy needs one of these seat belt buckles for his 1972 Chevelle Heavy Chevy. Other '72 GM's might feature the same buckle. His broke this weekend while out cruising.

He's not very internet savy so he asked me to post here. You can reach Chuck at or me through yenko.net

Thank you!

Rick -- I just dug through my box of seat belt parts and do not have what you need. The parts I have are dated from as far back as 1966 through 1979 -- but no 72 parts. Sorry ... TAZ

The pictured belt was an extra one Chuck had, not one of the belts in his Chevelle. The extra one turned out to be broken too.

His Chevelle was made May 4, 1972 and has this style belt in it.

Thanks.

That's a '73 belt. Infamous "exploding buckles", happens to just about all of them. If you find a good one get an old male buckle and store in it as it takes the pressure off the poorly designed plastic insert on the buckle.
