It's insane that these racers can run under 10 seconds using factory appearing tires that were either standard or optional for that car. NO SLICKS. And . . . no open headers. In fact no headers at all. Must use standard looking factory exhaust manifolds.
I wonder what the compression ratio of these cars is. I am guessing at least 14:1. The engine visually has to appear stock and you can only run what was available from the factory as far as carburation and air cleaner assembly. Thanks Lynn for posting this. Track prep accounts for most of the traction with stock tires. I'm sure it would pull the shoes off your feet to walk on.
Still cool to see such low et's with street tires...

Terry Pennington's black L88 Corvette is beautiful. In the picture it looks like the rear fenders are slightly flared; maybe just the angle of the shot?
