It was just hailing here in Peoria...just northwest of Phoenix...

According to Weather.com...there is a pretty good sized shower just below the dragstrip in Whittier...

Just talked with Jim Meador, D/SA '67 Camaro. He told me that many threw in the towel because of the weather and headed home.......even though they were still in the eliminator! Nice way to start the year for NHRA.....

I wouldn't want the NHRA to go under but I do think some healthy competition would be good for them. They've focused on the Pro categories so much lately that the little guy feels like the red-headed stepchild. Maybe it's time for this!

I've talked with Rod Saint a few times lately and he seems like a stand-up guy. Being a former member of an AHRA Sanctioned strip, I'm happy to see the AHRA come back at any level.

I wish him well!

They're suppose to finish the race today. Rain, rain and more rain. My buddy Wayne is having such a good time after driving almost 3000 miles. Cooped up in his motorhome for over a week!

Rough way to start the NHRA season out. Probably NO spectators at this point. Not good for business.

Weather looks good for today, at least according to weather.com. Being from Seattle I have been to these delayed finishes, small crowds and a fun day to be a spectator if you can get the time off work! It's certainly tough on the racers though.
