Car Crushing Bill

Here we go, all here might want to read this. If Nancy P. and her CA friends have their way, all of our old cars will be going to the crusher.

Will someone splain to me how this bill, will forcing any classic cars out of our garages into the crusher.

I read about newer inefficient fuel hogs, but nothing about classic collector cars.

This makes about as much sense as the Gun Buy Back programs the liberals keep promoting. Just think, we can crush all our old cars, sell the steel to China and then buy it back off the shelves of Walmart....seems logical to me

Trust me, this is only the start. The libs know what's best for all of us.......right? And they do not want anyone driving or owning ANY gas guzzling cars that get 10 miles to the gallon. This is only the beginning. There are other bills in the works.

Hardly a new topic. Those who read Hot Rod magazine in the mid-90s will remember the yellow '67 "Crusher Camaro" so named because they bought it from the person who brought it to the Unocal recycling center. In those days they paid $600 for any running car that had live registration to earn emissions credits. Having shopped the So Cal junkyards before and after I can tell you the supply of '60s cars dried up instantly when they implemented this program. Other states have offered voluntary buy-backs also. Most of the potential damage has been done.

[/ QUOTE ] This is what it says about the bill in question. "Under the plan, the Federal government would pay a premium for 1999 and newer cars." That being said, in the past once you let them get away with a small step they are like sharks who smell blood. Just look at how gun control laws have gotten progressively worse a little bit at a time. And while this bill might help to boost new car sales it will do so at the expense of the small repair shops that make a living from repairing older cars & trucks.
