Default 1979 Z28 IROC support vehicles?

Anybody here know the back story on these vehicles?

The placard has the 1979 drivers names on it.

Doubtful being a Coupe but maybe used as a Parade car or possibly some kind of Promotional vehicle?
It may offer little but being Canada Vintage has build paperwork available for most all '77 and newer vehicles regardless of where built/shipped new, could be worth a whirl?

----That Z is really clean even for 21,000 miles. An uneducated guess is that the buy it now a fair price. Color combo is a bit odd, but the car is the car!......Bill S

Saw that car for sale recently out of Arizona for under $7000.00. Thought it was a good deal. That green though...

That's got to be the most horrible interior color ever.

I think I turned this color once when I was stuck on a cod-fishing boat for 8 hours, during a storm, in the Atlantic when I was a teenager.

Was that a stock interior color or something just for this promotion?
