Default Kenny Pascoe's Unbelieveable 1969 L78 SS Camaro

IT WAS LATE IN 2003 I MENTIONED TO FRANK ARONE THAT I WAS IN THE MARKET FOR A 69 396/375 CAMARO AND I TOLD HIM IF ANYTHING BECAME AVAILABLE I WOULD BE INTERESTED. THE MORE COMPLETE THE BETTER. FAST FORWARD TO JANUARY 2004 FRANK CALLS ME EARLY ONE MORNING AND TELLS ME THE CAR I WANT IS ON EBAY. I ASK HIM WHAT COLOR IT IS AND HE RESPONDS FATHOM GREEN. I TOLD HIM I’D LOOK AT THE AUCTION AND GET BACK TO HIM. I WAS READING THE AD AND THE AD STATED THE CAR IS BURNISH BROWN. I CALLED FRANK BACK AND TOLD HIM THE CAR IS BROWN NOT GREEN AND I’M NOT BUYING A BROWN CAR. HE THEN PROCEEDS TO TELL ME MY FAMOUS LINE “ WHERES THE NEXT ONE” AND HOW GOOD THAT BROWN WOULD LOOK WHEN RESTORED.

I THEN CONTACTED THE SELLER OF THE CAR AND GOT SOME ADDITIONAL INFO REGARDING THE CAR. I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR ITSELF BUT COULDN’T GET PAST BROWN. BEING IN THE COLLECTOR CAR BUSINESS , I ACQUIRE SOME AWESOME CARS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS AND A FEW I GET ATTACHED TO, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A BUYER THAT COMES ALONG AND MAKES IT WORTH PARTING WITH. I THEN STARTED CONSIDERING THIS BROWN CAR AND I FIGURED IF I BOUGHT A BROWN CAR THAT NOBODY WOULD INQUIRE ABOUT IT BECAUSE ITS BROWN. I CONTACTED THE SELLER THAT AFTERNOON AND WE STRUCK A DEAL AND THE AUCTION WAS SHUT DOWN.

THE CAR IS A 1969 SS 396/375 CAMARO SOLD OUT OF VAN T CHEVROLET IN TOPEKA, KANSAS. THE CARS DOCUMENTATION IS AS FOLLOWS, PROTECTOPLATE, HANDWRITTEN AND TYPED BILL OF SALE, LOAN CONTRACT, FIRST INSURANCE BINDER AND ORIGINAL OWNERS TITLE AND FIRST SPEEDING TICKET FROM 1969.OPTIONS INCLUDE CONSOLE, GUAGES, TACHOMETER,AM RADIO, M20, 3:73 POSI. PAINT AND BODY WAS PERFORMED BY FRANK ARONE AND ARONE AUTO BODY AND RESTORATION WAS HANDLED BY BRIAN AND JOE FROM SUPERCAR WORKSHOP AND MY SHOP EVERY LAST DETAIL. THE CAR WAS COMPLETED IN LATE SPRING 2006 AND HAS BEEN A HIT AT EVERY SHOW IT HAS BEEN ENTERED IN. THE ALLOCADES RECEIVED SO FAR HAVE BEEN YORK US 30 MUSCLECAR SHOW TOP 3 MUSCLECARS AND MOST RECENT FALL 06 CHEVY VETTEFEST A GOLD SPINNER AND TOP GUN AWARD. SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED IN THE RESTORATION. ENJOY THE PICS !!

With apologies to Kenny...I wasn't able to use some of the pics that he sent to me. When I get the other ones sent to me again...they will be posted here also!

KP...awesome Camaro!

None of the pics do the car justice (especially mine). You have to see this car in person to really appreciate how cool it is!

The bottom two shots are from an upcoming Calendar...Kenny will give all the details

Thanks for sharing your awesome SS with us Kenny!

Hey, "What can brown do for you?"

Regardless of the color, and I love Burnished Brown, that is an awesome car that is beautifully done. I've owned several Fathom Green cars, but, I'm thinking brown may be even better looking.

Regards,

Mark

Tough to argue with that one. It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you at VetteFest and see the car. It is absolutely georgous and that coming from someone who is REALLY anal about detail!
