Default my old "Z" is for sale

What's old is new again. My old 69Z is for sale at the same dealer I sold it over two years ago. What's strange is that the mileage hasn't changed by much and it still carries the personalized plates, "69ZEE28". I sold it for 40K and the new dealer ad had it at 80k. Now there's no price listed. It's a Van Nuys car that had a frame off resto. in the early 90's. What made it a problem for me to sell was that the 2nd owner rebuilt the engine and decked the block removing the pad assembly date stamp and vin. So, it still may be a little tough to sell. There's paperwork going back to the original owner including machine shop receipts for the rebuild. I liked the car. One strange thing about this car and dealer is that after I sold the car I got a DMV renewal notice about a year later. I called the dealer and their DMV guy said the car was sold out of state and the new owner probably didn't turn in the Calif. plates. But, it has my original California plates on it now so how do you figure?

Here's a series of pictures of me with the car at a local Camaro event in 2004. The car looks the same,..I don't.

Interesting to see how the stripes continued down past the spoiler and on to the deck lid at the rear.

Do you know who did the resto TireBird?

No the plates were part of the original deal,..and they should go with the car. It's a great "Z" that runs sweet although with a 4:10 diff. it's a little busy at highway speeds.

My Tirebird was originally modified by BFG and then by Tom Senter.

Yep, Bill it was in Petersen. It was also featured in Popular Hot Rodding and Car Craft back in the day. In fact, the "Tirebird" appeared in more magazines in the 70's than John Travolta!
