Default Wanted Used Original 72 Nova Timing Chain Cover

Looking for a good used original 1972 Chevy Nova timing chain cover that came on the 350 L48 200 horsepower engine. From what i understand the timing cover did not have a welded timing tab from the factory.

Hmm, I though all the 70s GM covers had the welded tab, just in different places depending on the size of the balancer.

There were at least two designs (3 spoke and circle with diag cut).

I would have assumed a 72 L48 is the same as 69 Camaro L48s and used the same timing cover (3 spoke with 8" balancer welded tab). Aslo used on Z/28s so they are getting pricey.

Hi Kevin, My 72 has a factory balancer approx 6 3/4 inch dia low horsepower. The 8 inch balancer tab would sit way to high off the balancer. Found a picture of a 72 Nova SS L48 350 with the correct engine and from what i saw this engine used a removal timing pointer that GM made. This is what i am wondering, did the 72 Nova's SS 350 use a welded timing tab on the cover or did they install these removal timing pointers on the factory engine assembly at Flint.
