So you're keeping the Rivian?

Yes. It and the Lucid are great. Tried the rock crawl setting on the Rivian out on the remains or our motocross track the other day. It is fairly steep with grass over a foot tall. My Raptor or GMC would have been spinning the tires. This thing just went over it. You could feel each wheel doing different stuff as needed, Really neat.

When we were growing up, we were taught that oil and petroleum related natural resources were finite, and that someday we would run out. However, I read this article earlier today and it states some really interesting information that I wanted to share. If this is accurate, the race to end ICE vehicles and replace them with EVs may have been falsely promoted. I need to research this more but it's interesting reading.

I'm fine with the growth of EVs in new car and light truck sales, just to put it in perspective usually ~16M new vehicles are sold every year. EVs currently are small percentage of those, but it's probably going to grow pretty fast. A former neighbor of mine who is a German guy with VW said that the VW mass produced vehicles will be a mix of ICE, hybrid and EV but he does not foresee VW going full EV anytime soom.
On a side note I'm impressed to have a truck that gets 18mph city. |

I am not educated from this thread on what these vehicles are I have been seeing around the Chicago area. Looks like a good fun buy!
On EV front, I am pro a hybrid approach. After seeing what can happen if a grid is taken out, having gas around is a good thing. The control of the materials that make up batteries is another topic I am sure we will all learn the pros and cons of later when EVs ramp up. Interesting blue tone in the wheel color vs the body color. That caught my eye. Also wonder if there is a 'kit mode' for the light bar in the front, scrolling back and forth while it decides when to beat anything that challenges it red lighting of course Last edited by black69; 04-14-2022 at 02:17 AM. |

Pic of the optional slide out stove for camping. No I didn’t order that option.
