Default L78 69 camaro block usage info needed

I have a 1969 l78 camaro that im trying to get back together. I have the POP and the engine assembly date was 1116 JD . I have the born with trans and rear but so far i havent found the original engine or block. Would the correct block for a 11C car be a 440 or a 272 ? Im going to build something to get it back on the road but it wont be correct because im adding aluminum heads but id like to put the correct casting block in anyway. Hopefully some day ill find the born with block , its a local car but still a longshot. Thanks Greg
