I am aware Dan had anger issues. However, he was by far one of the nicest, most helpful people I have encountered in the hobby. When we had ZL-1 #4, he tracked own old newspaper ads from Hauser Chev at the library. He located the original owner, people that had raced it back in the day. Packed it all up and sent it to me along with an NOS dealer nameplate. Never asked to be compensated, I insisted.

Hope he has found peace.

My experiences with Dan were all good ones. He was very helpful to me on several occasions. He had strong opinions that did not always mesh well with others in the hobby. My condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

Dan had posted the partial VINs of the two Courtesy Chevrolet '68 Harrell Chevelles. Through his generosity of making them public, I've since been able to track down both cars. Dan and I would talk regularly. We last spoke in August. He always wanted to know what I've learned on the Harrell Chevelles and continued to offer his advice on how to find out more on these cars. RIP Dan.

Wow! I did not expect to hear this news. I only talked to him a couple of times over the last 20 years but from what others have told me about him he was indeed one of the most giving people when it came to helping others with locating cars. He will be missed in the hobby. RIP Dan

I just learned of Dan’s passing. Dan was a friend of mine and we had many interesting conversations. I know he had faith in God and didn’t mind helping people. He was a true old school Motörhead. Dan was authentic! I will miss him . ❤️

So sorry to hear the news!

Sammy Scardino and I visited him at his house in the Hellertown PA area about 5 years ago- what a wealth of knowledge, we talked for quite a while about COPOS, Drag racing, Motion cars & Brooklyn Heavy- he had a very potent 70 427 Nova at the time that he needed to sell as he was having a bit of an issue with his township and they were giving him a hard time. I hope his photo album and memorabilia were saved as he had quite a collection of original photos and 60's/ 70's drag race items.

RIP Dan
