Transmission Choices
Morning all. I've been attempting to research manual transmissions for my GTO build, with little luck gathering the information to make a decision. So, I thought I'd ask your thoughts and recommendations. This is a "pro touring" build, with a butler 505 and anticipated ~750 HP. It has a 4:11 12-bolt posi. Who builds a manual transmission that you would recommend that can safely handle the HP/torque? I'm thinking at least a 5 speed to compensate for the gearing but possibly a 6 speed? Any thoughts/recommendations greatly appreciated!

Re: Transmission Choices
How many gears do you need with 750hp? I like the simplicity of a 4 speed and hate tge way internal rail shifters feel. Autogear 4 speed maybe? You could throw in a Gear Vendors OD unit if you gear it low enough to require one.

Re: Transmission Choices
Well, when I ask it to go, I want it to go. On the flip side, I want to be able to drive a hundred miles on I-95 to a car show at something short of 8000 RPM.....
