124379N676702 is not one of the 69 ZL1s and not an early build.

I am 99.9% sure that Dave Beem's Hugger Orange - Dec built Z28 with documented ZL2 has the piercing above the fuse box & I know his 01B Yenko formerly owned by Bill Hunter has the piercing above the fuse box.

Do you have any more clues that it is a COPO besides BE rear end? There is a hole under the Fuse block hole. This Camaron was manufactured in August 69 and by then they had manufactured approximately 800-900 COPOs

I would need to see the Camaro to try and figure out about the wiring hole for the ducted hood.

To this day I have the original B/B heater box and Z bar from that car. I also had the 155 dated 9204 booster from it which I sold a few years back.

Chris Oberhammer who still lives in Bethel CT was the person that purchased it off of the Arnold's.

Chris bought the car for the original steel nose for his '69 convertible. The ducted hood pad was still on the hood and Chris installed it on his convertible. I tried to buy the pad but he would not sell it. About five years later I saw his convertible was for sale. I called him wanting to buy the hood pad. He told me his engine had an oil leak and he threw the pad out. Really a shame as that pad would still be mint today if I owned it.

I have no idea why there is no ducted hood wiring hole, possibly was overlooked and they ran the wiring through another hole such as the plastic plugged hole for the speedo cable that isn't used on a Muncie car.

No doubt in my mind that it is a real 9561 COPO.

What's happening with this car, seems like the owner should be able to trace the car back and maybe luck into some paperwork since you know who first owned it.

Did they get the NCRS shipping data report to see if it comes back to Hayes Chevrolet ?

There may have been a dealer swap and the shipping data report may show a different dealer that can be researched.

Wonder if Chris Oberhammer would remember if 427 was scribbled on the fender extensions?
