Default Yenko Deuce Pics

All,

This is a real Yenko Deuce that was in my home town. I know most of the history of the car until it was sold in 1988 -1989 and lost track of it. I am going to talk with the owner of the car when I knew it and get some more pics and see if I can pick up any more information on the car. I am sure he has alot of info on the car and prob the VIN as well.

Before you go picking up on all the things that look wrong I know many things about it.

First stripes on rear are wrong as the car had a repaint after original owner hit a mailbox after some silliness on a side street one night. My friend did not like the stripes going down and had them turned up. He swapped out the bench seat for some buckets. At the time of this pic the engine in the car is not the original and as you can see was setup for a dual quad tunnel ram.

I always told him I wanted to buy this car if he wanted to sell it. One day in 1988 I see him and he tells me he is getting married and needs cash so the Yenko is for sale. I had just bought a corvette so I did not have any cash. Assumming he wanted what it was worth at the time I told him I would need to talk with my dad and borrow the $$ until I could sell the vette. Long story short I got the OK from Dad, went back and he just sold it for less than 1/2 of what the car was worth. He informed the new owner of where to find the original engine (sitting in a speed boat at a local body shop), last I heard they were reunited.

Does this story sound familiar to any current Deuce owner? If so I would sure like to know what happened to the car. I hope some one here has the car and it has been restored.

Gearhead.

cool pics...I wonder if you could get any bigger tires on the back of a Nova? I'll bet a dollar to doughnuts Marlin knows the history of the car, and who owns it now if it still exists... not too many Citrus Green deuces out there...

This one was at SCR7...only Citrus car ever to attend a Supercar Reunion.

Same car as the one at SCR8. I believe this car takes the cake for having the most owners, somewhere around 17 +/-. The mailbox post also put a dent in the roof from what I'm told, maybe it was just the hood though - bad memory. I think this car spent time in Wyoming as one of the owners went to school out there, but it came back to IL. Eventually the car was bought by Wade Fletcher in WI, then bought by the current owner in MI. The car was sold new at Sam Leman Chev in Roanoke, IL.

Very cool pics, love the tires and engine - not the first deuce to have dual quads stuck through the hood!

Hi, I bought this car from the person who bought it, he only had it a short time (about 1988). I owned it until 2002 when I sold it to a collector in northern Il. I did get the original engine with the car & it was in the boat @ the body shop as mentioned. The car was the same as pictured except for the hood & tunnel ram.

Really? Different car then, not the one at SCR8 - but that one hit a post as well!! Hard to tell which is which without a vin number to trace. Jerry's old car was sold out of Sam Leman Chev in Roanoke as well - anyone want to guess which other dealer might have sold two CG deuces?

BTW this car is still in IL, owned by BobJ.

My guess would be Colonial, in Norfolk VA.

Some time back I remember us looking at a drivers side photo posted or linked by someone of a Citrus deuce sitting in a driveway and wondering if it was real or not. I believe it was from the same area in Illinois... It was a recent photo. I'll have to dig thru the search... You remember this M? When discussing the photo we did reference that it was not Bob's car...
