1970 was 50 YEARS ago...damn !
I was just reminded of this and a song that was mesmerizing that year, among MANY other great music that transitioned rock in the early 70's. I still have this 8 track tape that I played in my Craig floor mount player with the 2 6x9 Jensen's in the rear deck. The music of the muscle car era is just as classic as the cars.

50 years ago I was on an all expense paid vacation to a little place called Viet Nam. What a deal! Hearing certain songs from 1970 can bring back many memories from that experience.

Robert, thanks for your service. A friend of mine was in Vietnam and saw a great deal of combat. He does not talk much about it and it still affects him to this day. I was born in 70 LOL.

Great song for sure but what intrigued me was what was in the video on the side of Leno's Duesenberg. I never saw this car before and apparently it's a one off custom made car.
Fascinating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L24MNoKq54&t=1373s Thanks for posting. |

Yep, I was #41 in the lottery draft drawing for 1972 and got called up, but failed my physical because I have a high frequency hearing loss.

When I think back, the year 1970 had no "life markers" for me. Nothing special at all comes to mind. 1969 - now that was totally different: I turned 18. Spent my 18th birthday on a 24 hour whirlwind day which started in NYC and ended up in Queens street racing a new Charger R/T which I would eventually drive back to the Catskills because my friend was too drunk to drive me home and passed out in the back seat. First year in College. Bought my first muscle car: used 1967 Chevelle SS396/350HP triple black 4 speed.
