70 Z28: can’t remember if CTB is stick or auto. Built June 6th. Is there a vin stamped by the oil filter boss, or the deck? Would be nice to reunite it with the car if it still exists!
Buddy Edit. CTB is stick shift, CTC is turbo 400.

It should be a V0606CTB please recheck it? or post a picture? CTB is for a 70 z28 4 speed car. 1970 Z28 motors were built in flint Michigan and begin with a V. The assembly date is June 6th 1970. Also a partial vin should be stamped on the rough cast near oil filter if for a Norwood built car. If it was a Vannuys car it's on the front pad where the stamp your questioning is.

A Tonawanda built 1970 LT1 Z28 engine? I've never seen one, only Flints with a ' V '
You'd think a guy with a '70 Deuce who has been buying up LT1 parts here in the parts-for-sale section would know..... Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

I’ve read that Flint was the only foundry that had the tooling to unshroud the 2.02 valves, so all Tonawanda small blocks were limited to 1.94 and smaller intake valves. Can anybody confirm this?

CTB is indeed a '70 350/360HP for the Z28's unless it has a Nova VIN which makes it a COPO 9010 application.

If the OP relays the rest of the info from this engine, it could end up being one of the other CTB Suffix applications which may also jive w/ the Tonawanda build...72-75 400 SBC or '78 Monza 305? ~ Pete .

i dont need your smart ass remarks...thx your the kind of guy that drives individuals off sites like this as you believe you know it all.........and have the right to judge other members! the rest of you members trying to help the prefix is definitely "T0606CTB" and not "V0606CTB"...and that was why i was questioning it......did not make sense to me as i stated it is a 1970 "0010" 4 bolt bolt and this is the prefix up on the front pad i do NOT claim to be an expert/ never have and still learning from some members kind enough to help me i will try to get a clear pic of the prefix stamping regards chris
