Experience with Instrument Specialties?
Has anyone had experience with Instrument Specialties in Kingstown, RI? They have had a vintage Stewart Warner temp gauge of mine for over a year now. Long story, but I finally asked them to send my original parts back (they took it apart) - they refused to send it back - hung up! They want me to send then a good re-pro SW temp gauge so that they can pirate parts!
On the positive side, they did restore a tach for me and did a really nice job. Pricey, but nice. |

Mixed reviews here. Straight forward work very nice, out of the norm not so much. They had some of my parts for a year (plastic chrome plating) and couldn't deliver.

My experience was very positive. Sent them two 70 Camaro dash bezels for re-chroming and restoration of the wood grain overlays. Quoted me 10 months and delivered in exactly 10 months...and the finished bezels are gorgeous.

Just to update this issue - Mike asked that I bring the gauge to MCACN and he would expedite repairs. He has the gauge now.

Just to finish up on this topic. I dropped the gauge off with Mike at MCACN. He located a new bezel and installed it. The gauge is back on my shelf and I am very happy with the outcome.
