'68 Lemans Sprint 4-sp
I've seen a handful of '66 and '67 Sprints, but never a '68. Ad is pretty worthless but the car itself is intriguing, especially since this car has the 4-speed (I've noticed a number of these were ordered with the 3-speed manual instead).

I like it too. Pepper Green or Verdoro? Sure, I’d bid $17K (opening bid - totally legit ) for a car ad with one photo and a short description!!!!

Seller unresponsive to questions. Auction very questionable. I'm out.

Ad says car was on the west coast until current owner purchased it. Picture might be from when he purchased it

When I was about 8 my dad bought a 68 LeMans with the OHC six in almost these exact same colors. It was an automatic though, and I don't think it was the Sprint with the Qjet. I don't remember a stripe down the side. He bought the car for my brothers to drive, and sadly they were out driving one night and apparently ran it low on oil and ruined the engine. That was the end of it for us. Who knows where it ended up - probably got a V8 transplanted into it.
The OHC six was John DeLorean's baby, wasn't it? |

That OHC sprint engine was discontinued after the 68 MY I believe. A guy local to me had a 68 Firebird Sprint vert with original paint - same engine. This is a nice looking Lemans in a great color combo (looks like Verdero to me). Verdero green was available in 68/69. Midnight green (darker shade) was added in 69. Pepper green was not avail until 70. Verdero green is a hard color to "get right" in a repaint and really shows different depending on the lighting in photos.

If legit, very cool car. FWIW, 69 was the last year for the OHC Sprint and it made 230 hp. Pontiac dropped the OHC engine in 70 for the Chevy 6.
I believe Verdoro Green was a standard color through 70 MY. |
