No wheel well chrome? Again it looks amazing! My car goes in for paint in 4 weeks for that same colour combo. Seeing pics like these sure makes me happy i choose black with the white stripes!

My dream car when I was 18 years old was Mr. Millers black with red stripes and white interior Olds 442 w-30. I just had a regular 442 and his car was the hot car in town.

I like black but after attending SEMA and dusting off my black stripes a million times am glad mine is gold with black stripes. Looks great clean with no fine scratches but oh my gets dusty in seconds. I did not have to dust the gold nearly as much.

Shane you are correct on both accounts.

This car was repainted a long time ago,and the trim was not reinstalled. From what I have been informed thus far, it was sometime in the 1980s. It is a nice driver, but certainly not a maximum standards type of car, at least not at this point.

I purchased it as original miles, it is now showing approx. 37k.

A good portion of the interior appears original. It seems to have original spiral type shocks on the front (will check date codes soon). It also has original riveted ball joints as well as other parts which are typical wear items, but drives nice and tight.

Sam,

It was just one of those Midwest Fall days and I just couldn't resist trying to capture that in the pics too.

My first up close and personal experience with a W-Machine, was with my next door neighbor. I was in my early teens.

The Swanson boys had a passion for Muscle cars. I could always expect to see something cool in the drive way. Jimmy's then girlfriend, who later became his wife, had a 1970 W30 Ragtop in Sebring Yellow, with a Black vinyl top and interior.

I just thought that it was one of the classiest and coolest sounding stock muscle cars I had ever seen.

Jimmy moved to Alaska before I went off to College and I have never seen him since.

I often wonder what may have happened to that car?

Then, while in college the owner of the "Regulator" a tavern in Macomb, Illinois, I believe his name was Les, had a W-30 Hardtop in this same color combination. I can't remember if it was a '70 or '71 and I seem to remember it being a 4 speed.

It had a trailer hitch and he used it to pull his boat in and out of the water.

Anybody close to Macomb remember Les' car?
