Default Mickey Thompson Header Find - need ID

Hi folks, scored a near NOS set of SBC Super Scavenger headers with one of the two collectors still there and an old muffler from Grand Automotive. The headers have definitely been bolted to an engine but I don't believe they have ever been run.

I can only find a 'D' and '8' stamped on the header flanges. Any idea what these may fit? Super Scavenger applications are pretty light - '55-57 Chevy, early Camaro, early Chevelle, early full-size, Corvette...and I think that just about rounds out the SBC applications.

Thanks in advance,
Tony

Those are awesome, Tony. My guess is they are for a Chevelle.

Tony I can tell you what they are not, by the sets I own or have owned.
They are not 55-57 Chevy, and they are not Camaro, and they are not 58-64 Chevy.

I have never seen a set that looks like that. Very cool find.

Thanks guys. Chevelle seems to make sense. I got them in a package deal and have nothing to install them on. If anyone has an idea of a fair price please PM me.

Cool score Tony. I recommend contacting Bruce Wright. He has been working with M/T SS’s for YEARS! He may be able to help with application and dating.

Thanks guys. Could the ‘8’ refer to 202-8 for ‘63-65 Corvette? I have no idea what a midyear Corvette header would look like.

No, I don't think so. Most midyear Corvette headers go straight down in the middle generally like the ram horn exhaust manifolds do.
