What leads you to believe the COPO innards in the LS6 rear was from new? This would be a rare instance. How did the standard '70 LS6 rear innards compare to '69 COPO innards generally speaking? Both had to be stout to handle the 450-500 ft lbs of torque.

Not sure it would be really rare. I had another CRW 410 with 9/69 copo gears in it,and a BV camaro rear out of an L78 with copo 410,and that was an original owner car. No different than cars for example getting a 4 bolt and stamped for the 2 bolt version when supply was low or got mixed in production ,and other examples of upgrades to the buyers benefit . Potential buyer probably doesnt care it came with copo guts, hence the parting out of the rare copo pieces. I dont think the rear is worth any more because it has copo r and p other than the parted out difference in value

Thanks - I did not know there were a few like this. I have to believe that the LS6 standard 4.10 innards are as beefy as the '69 COPO innards.
