Default OEM GM Holley Carb List 4346 1969 Chevy 396/375HP 427/425HP Yenko COPO Dated 913

This carb is a very nice original part that has been in storage since the early 70's. It came off of a 1969 Nova race car that had a 427 in it. Looking at all the parts that came with this distributor, the car looks to have been an L78 built in late Jan or Feb. The last picture shows other parts that came to me in the same deal.

This carburetor is in very good original condition as shown. The part number and date code are excellent with no damage. The metering blocks are the correct 5583 and 4519 units. All parts appear correct except the needle/seat inserts which are Borg Warner replacements. The correct needle/seats can simply be threaded in during rebuild. It will certainly look even better with some careful cleaning. I plan to clean it later today and will port updated pics. It has a Ford cross over tube installed on the fuel inlets for some reason. I imagine it was an attempt to keep it sealed. The other inlet of the front bowl is not threaded.

$695

Thanks,

Jason

I couldn't help myself and decided to give this carb a quick cleaning. It is a very nice original carb that even looks to have its original gaskets(obviously need replacement). I forgot to remove the screw in the secondary linkage. Needless to say, it will come right out.

Thanks,

Jason

Those are not the original gaskets, and not the original or correct needle assemblies. It does look like a very nice carburetor. The color looks pretty good.

Yes, the needle and seats are later Borg Warner units. Why do you say the gaskets are not original?

Looks like they are cork. The original gaskets are brown paper. Cork gaskets don't hold up well in a Holley. It doesn't matter anyway. It's still a nice carburetor.

Freddie,

I am not sure that is true about the brown paper for the bowls and metering blocks. Does anyone have any input on what gaskets were used on 60's Holley carbs? I have had a number if early take off and even NOS late 60's carbs and they have had cork gaskets with with white printing on one side.

Here is one such example:

Thanks,

Jason

You may be right. I'm not an expert on this, but I've never seen cork gaskets anywhere except in the cheep rebuild kits. Every time I've disassembled a Holley with the cork gaskets they were always shrunk and out of shape.

Jason - as always - great pictures and great parts. Buyers can see exactly what they are getting and the community can even give constructive input. Wish that I needed this carb - it's a really good deal IMO.
