Is this a Factory Re-stamp on this Q-Jet?
Why would anyone do this to the carb number for this Quadrajet? Did the Factory re-stamp it? And what is the correct number?

What a shame. This is the kind of stuff that is going on these days. And they still are getting big money?

I dont think it was done to decieve...the stamped number isnt a rare number and it starter out as a service date. Its a service date for the 0509 restamp too..could have been factory

I collected up quite a few Q-jets over the years (nothing that is presently collectible) and one of them had the original numbers scratched out and a silver sticker applied over the scratching. I peeled off the sticker in hopes of finding the correct numbers so I could order a kit ... only to find a scratched mess.
I am guessing it was done by a rebuilding company when they "restored" a carb for someone but needed to use the body off something else. Oh yeah ... I lost the sticker so now I have no idea what it once was or what it became |
