The attrition rate for the Queen City '67 Zs is pretty high then. I only know of one, a Tahoe Turquoise std grille car.

I'm not contemplating a show only car. I like to drive. A show only car is something I would sell as it just takes up space and I don't have space to burn.

The production date of 4/21/67 listed on the shipping data report seems kind of late for a drag car.

It doesn't rule it out since they may have not been trying to compete for the championship but the first NHRA race of the season was the 1967 Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway, Pomona, California on 5 February 1967

Understood Joe, but Bill Jenkins' first race with his L78 wasn't until May 28 at Englishtown and he took the Division 1 Super Stock Eliminator points lead from his first race.

Yenko ordered three Zs in December '66 that were part of the first 25 built, one each in red, white, and blue. Later they ordered six more Zs, two each for the three colors of red, white, and blue. This one was built and delivered almost a full month earlier than the other five. It may have been because it was earmarked to go racing and to allow time to prepare it. The other five were apparently ordered to have stock on hand and I don't believe they sold quickly. The attached info sheet from May 27, 1967 shows they were still trying to sell one of their Stormer Z-28s which they'd had since January.

Not to sidetrack the conversation and idk if Cecil was before Englishtown but this is the earliest that I’ve seen of Grumpys 67. Pay close attention at 4:15 mark. Cool video throughout but just thought I’d share.

Cool video, Darrell. According to my issues of National Dragster, Englishtown was the Division 1 season opener on May 28th. Cecil County held the 3rd Annual Super Stock Nationals June 23-25. Cecil County was not part of the '67 World Championship series.

I’d be surprised if that was taken in June based on the trees without leaves and everyone wearing jackets or long sleeves. But idk.

Good point and looking at the photo in National Dragster there is more lettering on the car at Englishtown. Englishtown was the Grumpy's Toy III debut in the World Championship series and that started May 28th for Division 1. My red car getting built and delivered in April would have had time to be ready for the start of the series.
