Re: 1 of 617...Gold Chicken Lips
As promised here is the photobucket slideshow...a lot of little detail shots showing dates, hidden VIN, etc. Not real exciting, but part of the story none the less.
I plan to take some photos of the incredible interior we have...but, we'll have to wait till the weatherman cools things down a little. It hit a 100* here yesterday http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/WI...8%20L78%20Nova Thanks...wilma

Re: 1 of 617...Gold Chicken Lips
I have had some inquires about the car and some folks expressed an interest in a turn key solution that included a 'reasonably firm' price on the finished product. After reviewing this with Jason I am happy to try and make this a package deal for the finished car. Of course, what someone may want for the finished product is subject to some discussion.
Perhaps you want a Day 2 look?? or maybe just a nice high end driver?? I have a collection of Day 2 parts including headers, tires, ignition, traction bars, valve covers, etc. So, there are lots of possibilities. If this type of approach interests you, let me know and we can work it out so it is fair for all concerned. wilma **a little trivia on this car...the original owner told me he saw the ad for "The Toughest Block on the Block"...next stop was Bill Campbell Chevrolet

I can still remember the Dodge TV commercials with Dick Landy -- "take it to the strip where the men race" (or something like that) ... TAZ

Re: 1 of 617...Gold Chicken Lips
Just a little 'bump' for you Labor Day shoppers. I located the correct yoke [had it all the time] so we can finish up the driveshaft. Now that the weather has cooled down, I will get some photos of the interior pieces and post some pics.
We would like to move this car along before winter storage operations begin...happy to discuss the details of this rare Nova anytime. Have a good holiday...wilma

Re: 1 of 617...Gold Chicken Lips
Well...it was a 3 hour project, but I finally 'un-wrapped' and 're-wrapped' all of the interior parts for the 68 L78. I forgot how much stuff there was
This is really a complete package. A few items will need a little cleaning, but overall everything is really in super shape...considering these parts are almost 50 years old! It would be great if someone got this car going and did a 50th Birthday display to kick it off. Any questions...let me know. Click on the slideshow for the interior... http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/WI...ova%20Interior Also, found the restored starter...here are a few photos:

Re: 1 of 617...Gold Chicken Lips
Just a little update on our 68 L78...I appreciate the inquiries we have received on the car and the positive feedback. Since winter is coming, I thought a little bump was in order.
As mentioned we are happy to help with restoration thru Jason or another shop of your choice. I will also consider a 'Holiday Law-a-Way' arrangement for a serious buyer. Make a deal to buy the car now...give me a 10% deposit and we can finish the transaction sometime after the holidays are over and there is time to focus on the project. Meantime it will be in climate controlled storage...high, dry and safe. I realize this is a unique car...and 68's are a 'one year only' model and may not be right for everyone...but, this car is the real deal...born with driveline, paperwork and it is an M22 car! Please feel to reach out with questions about the car anytime. We are happy to provide a time for a personal inspection...hopefully before the snow comes -wilma

Re: 1 of 617...Holiday Bump...
That 68 "Toughest Block on the Block' poster inspired me. I'm sure you have all sent Santa your Christmas list...hopefully it includes a rare 1968 L78 Nova
Make a deal now and I will include a 1968 Chevrolet Car Selector showroom book. This is a cool item that you don't often see...I got it many years ago from an SYC member. We have had a lot of interest in this car...call me and let's make both our holidays a happy one. -wilma Did I mention this car is one of 1 of 617 made...when's the last time you saw one

...
... Tom knows these novas in and out. ... I am sure that it is hard to comprehend how many great parts come with this car and I am sure that a serious buyer owes it to himself to go view this nova in person. I have always found that negotiating in person once you have viewed the car and all the parts is always better then by phone or on line because you get to meet the person and get the whole story of what this car is all about. ... I have always found that everyone is negotiable in person. ... Good luck with the sale ... |
