Default April Fools, 1 year ago

We woke up to a cold house and no electric power. The forecast was for the rain overnight turning to snow, but this was a bit extreme. Wet, heavy snow with high winds knocked down thousands of trees and limbs across a large part of Western WI and Eastern MN in the Twin city area. Ran the generator for 20 hours before power was repaired and it was longer for more rural areas than we are.

As beautiful as that is, I surely do not miss it! What a cruel joke. LOL

Been there done that ….. unfortunately.

I lived my first 25 years in Springfield Illinois and experienced that perfect temperature that would cause heavy wet snow / ice to form on the trees and power lines.
One year around ‘73-‘74 me and my buddy were renting a house when the power went out from falling tree limbs for about two days.
Thankfully we had a gas oven / range to help us get through.

I remember it like yesterday.

Great photos of that beautiful snow!
