Default Winters Aluminum BB and Alum Heads info please

Folks I am not real well versed in these engines so please excuse my ignorance. I am contemplating what to do with this Winters aluminum block and heads. Build it or sell it. And if I do sell it do I leave it as is or send it to the machine shop to have it dialed in so it is ready to build and looks nice and clean?

Any info would be helpful as to determine exactly what (Can Am Motor?) it is. The deck is clean but it does have some numbers by the oil filter area .

Any opinion on value is welcome too as I may end up selling it. I have a hand full of people who email me regularly and want to buy it but I have not wanted to part with it and have no idea of the value.

There have also been to "ribs" added on each side of the valley on the block supossedly for strengthening. Should I have these removed or leave them?

Here are the heads. They are dated 1970 casting number 3946074

Castin number

What is the actual casting number? Could be just an over-the-counter block that a race team or shop used with the stamps. Someone might know more, but to say it's and actual certian teams block would be a tall order I think.

I did not articulate myself well
I am not trying to determine what team may or may not have run the motor I was just putting it out there that this block may have never been in a street car.
Most interested in determining if it is worth it to get the block dialed in or since there are newer and most likely better aluminum blocks available is this one, and heads, even worth the time money and effort?
I also thought some of the stampings may mean something to someone with more experience. I can look at the engine case for a Porsche RSR,934,935 or 962 race car and tell you what all the markings mean and even in some cases what team ran the case. But I own/owned and raced a bunch of those cars so I have that experience over time. With the Winters aluminum blocks I have no experience so none of the stampings ,"425" or "TO80 5 425 " and other markings mean if anything to me.
Also If I was to get the dock checked out and ready to build who would be the best machine shop to send it to?

I see a few differences. My 1970 heads "074" heads are D ports and yours are round ports. Also my 052 block seemed fine with most machine shop that worked on it, but it didn't need the work your does either.

Van,

Seeing as you are in Northern Ca I would try Dave Riolo from Riolo Racing Engines.
I had one of his blown big blocks in my racecar a few years ago and he was great to deal with.
Very knowledgeable with the big block. I haven't spoken to him for a while but he was in Roseville Ca.

I believe the 425 is an internal sequence number of the engine and I believe the T080 may be a date code similar to counter replacement motors. Are there any casted numbers on the side of the block ? Or stamped on the main caps.

I'm sure that the T080 is August of 1970 which is close to the October of '70 heads.

Block casting date is under the one motor mount. I would sell it as is. Taking it to your machine shop is not always good for the next guy. My shop doesn't always like parts I bring them because it is not how "they" would do it. The 425 is a sequence number and the main caps will have that number on them if they are original. Those engines were hard to machine when new. From sitting all these years it will be brittle from not being heat cycled. At most have it magnefluxrd for cracks with a receipt to assure the prospective buyer the block is ok. That's my thoughts
