This 1999 Kawasaki KX250 is an outstanding example of a 25 year old motocross motorcycle with extremely low hours. From the information gathered it’s only had two owners since new. The first owner only used it a handful of times and stored it in a shed for many years. The second owner strictly used it as a display piece in his small collection. The 2-stroke Kawasaki KX250 was produced from 1974 through 2008. The KX250 has been ridden to several AMA Motocross Championship wins, including a number of titles, in the hands of Jeff Ward, Jeff Emig and Ricky Carmichael. This example was decorated with decals to resemble the 2001 Kawasaki KX250 that helped Ricky Carmichael win his first premier-class AMA Supercross title which the most prestigious Championship in the sport. This example was also outfitted with Renthal handlebars, Renthal soft grips, MotoSeat Kawasaki embossed seat cover, FMF Gold Series Fatty polished pipe, Renthal sprockets and DID 520 ERT3 gold chain. The original tires were beginning to dry rot so they were replaced with the correct size Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires. This example is in excellent original condition with only minor signs of wear. It’s powered by the original 249cc single cylinder 2-stroke engine that is water cooled. The factory rated the engine with 54hp @ 8500rpm. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. An original factory KX250 exhaust pipe and new Factory Effex V.1 Kawasaki stand are included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
