I have not heard Sears mentioned as a location. The city wants it moved to the Meijer's location at Rt.62 and Rt.58. The owner of the current location said it could stay another year till they start to build. The city council is meeting this Tuesday and the Cruise is the agenda.Taking it to a vote should complicate things nicely. I heard that they have had about 75-100 cars the last 2-weeks. I don't care were it moves to. Maybe they won't tell the Boom Box and then we can talk instead of yell at our friends!.
L78 I may need another building, I promise to be a good tennant...

The Sears thing was a number of weeks ago.

I lived in the neighborhood of Brockway, Plum Grove Rd., Smith Street and West Robertson in Palatine...from 1968 to 1973. What a cool place to grow up!

Hmmm...No

I DO remember the Sunoco gas station near "old" downtown Palatine (when I lived there it was a village township with a volunteer fire department...kinda like Mayberry). The population then was ~15,000 or less.

One of my friends dads owned the Ben Franklin downtown...he was on the volunteer fire dept. and died trying to save his own store from burning down. He almost made it out, too. They found him about 4 steps from the door. It totally sucked!

Sorry for the downer story. I went to Sanborn and Wood St Elementary...

I've heard that Palatine is huge now...

Darren...that would WAY cool. The address is/was 58 West Robertson Palatine, Ill. 60067

It was a white house on the corner of West Robertson and North Brockway St. There was a totally cool turn of the century house directly across from us on the other side of Brockway. The day before we moved in...a tornado took out their carriage house and a tree in our yard.

When my mom found out what had happened..she wanted to move. We didn't though...what a cool place.
