Re: MCACN '15 Photos by mrays
Thanks, it's my pleasure! I'm glad you guys are enjoying them. This is taking me longer than anticipated so I'll post the rest this afternoon. By the way, what is the Midnite Special Chevelle. It quite possibly was there. I'll post the rest of my Chevelle pictures next.

Thanks for posting these and taking the time to get a brief detailed description.
That's how you show this show. |

You're welcome Verne! Thanks for putting together the 409 display. The 409 cars are some of my favorite's. When I was a kid back in the early 80's there used to be a 62 Impala SS 409/409 that would show up at our local track on occasion. It was Tuxedo Black with a red interior and was an unrestored car that had been raced in the 60's. It ran mid 12's and was owned by R. Kopanski. I always enjoyed watching that car run and have liked 409 cars ever since then.

I'm very familiar with that car. I saw it in '83. Remember the dual spotlights??? |

This is my favorite car event of the year! I drove in from Indiana on Saturday morning and luckily it was still warm enough that the snow was melting when it hit the pavement. I was at the show from 9 to 9 on Saturday and 9 to 5 on Sunday and still could have spent more time looking at everything. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza and it was a 10 minute walk from my room to the show entrance. When it comes to photography I'm more of a quality than quantity guy so here are my favorites from the show.
I will start with the Hemi convertible E-Body display. It was awesome to see so many of these cars in one place. There were 13 of the 18 Hemi Cuda convertibles from 1970 present. T. Thurling's EW1 Alpine White car has a TorqueFlite and was originally sold in OH. It was a tubbed and caged racecar with a supercharged Hemi before it was restored. It was missing it's fender tag and there were no build sheets found so it was restored with a white interior. Galen G. later found the original dealer invoice at the selling dealer and it was determined the car originally came with a black interior. </div></div> And here is what it looked like in 1986 at the Musclecar Nationals. It had a full black interior back then. |

Here are the rest of the Chevelles that I have photos of.
L. Robinson's Regal Red 66 is an original L78 car that was sold new at D. Heinrich Chevrolet in Lockport NY. It came with an M21 and 4.10 gears and was a race car early in it's life. Luckily the original engine survived and is in the car today. C. Finch's Regal Red 66 convertible is a 360 horse car with an M21 and 3.31 gears. T. Davis' Chateau Slate 66 is a 325 horse car with a 4 speed. T. Davis' Tuxedo Black 66 is also a 325 horse car with a 4 speed. T. Gehlhaar's Emerald Turquoise 67 convertible is a 325 horse 4 speed car with A/C. L. Bower is the original owner of this Marina Blue 67 that was purchased new at McEleney Chevrolet in Clinton IA. It is a 350 horse car with a 4 speed and 3.73 gears. E. Cunneen's Tuxedo Black 69 COPO was sold new at Columbiana Chevrolet in Columbiana OH. It is a bench seat automatic car that was raced when new. The original engine and transmission are gone, but it still has it's original rearend. D. Beem's Tuxedo Black 70 has an LS6 with an M22 and is a 4.3K mile unrestored car. It has a cloth and vinyl bench seat interior with a column shifter. It was in the Vintage Certification Display. J. Carlson's Tuxedo Black 70 is a numbers matching 350 horse car with a 4 speed. |

And my old car back in the day (actually the same day as the white 1970 race car photos taken above). The car was too damn slow at 14.05 @ 99mph.

Re: MCACN '15 Photos by mrays
Verne, are you referring to the ram air setup that was on the car with the air inlets where the high beam lights used to be? That car was featured in the January 84 issue of Super Chevy. He had chrome valve covers and air cleaner from a 63 on it and I think it had a Pontiac rear as well. I believe Rich was from Michigan City IN. I remember he used to get air under the front tires when he launched it.
