If it has such a rare/valuable heritage why would someone change the color from Black Jade to yellow?

Steve I wish I could answer that. I could have easily taken the it back to its original color of Black Jade, but the paint is TOO PERFECT to change! If judged there would be no deduction for a color change. That is in the rule book and I know it is different with GM Judging. Thanks for your input..

I must admit the yellow does look beautiful (much better than dark green). Is it a Ford color?

Yes Shelby did produce a few in 69, but not as many as in 1966. If you notice the pink colored order form I have pictured it reads "Hertz" Great question!

The Black stripes on the Hood and front spoiler were done to 1969 cars to "Turn" them into 1970 models. is this just a modification done at time of paint change to accent the black? Black Jade is not really Black for those that do not know the color. it looks like a Black car with a fine coat of Dust that has blown across it in my opinion! HERTZ did a couple hundred cars in 1968 and 1969 but there was no designation on the car itself to distinguish the fact other than original paper work. in 1968 the prototypes were pretty cool go to www.thecoralsnake.com to view them!
