pic from 2009, when I was doing a little TnT. that's the original paint or whats left of it




car is code 80, powder blue. paint chip chart shows it's a toro exclusive color. blue interior, buckets, console, am radio, rallye pac, TH350, 3:91 anti-spin. SSI originally, but I'm going to run SSII (I just like them better)

no clue when the car will be ready. I'd guess end of 2017 at the earliest.

distr dates codes are number for year, followed by letter for month, followed by numbers for day of the month. Usually they are to the right of the casting nbr. for example, 1C30 would be 1971, March 30.

it may be. I've only seen pics of one other 69 Olds A-body in this color. Car was missing drivetrain, but it may have been a W-31 also.

I had the original drivetrain rebuilt. 10.6:1 compression, built to PSMCDR specs. it's running the SSII with F70x14 GY PG. Oh and 4:33 gears :-) I learned a TON when the 400 for the GT-37 was built, so I'm planning to put that knowledge to use when a new motor for the 31 is built. New trans has already been done :-)

Plug wires - they are by quarter. 1 Q 69 is first quarter 69. 4 Q 68, would be 4th quarter 68. I think mine on the 31 are 2 Q 69 (going by foggy memory). Car was built 05C

I'd ditch the heat riser, just make sure the choke works on the carb, you'll be fine. I started and ran my '83 without issue a ton of times with headers (so no heat riser) and a working choke in single digit temps. You get heat from the exhaust crossover under the carb anyways. The stock manifolds are already restrictive enough...

Good enough -- just takes a skoshi longer for the manifold to heat up. Another issue is when using stock exhaust head pipes, because the heat riser (about 2&quot; thick) was removed, now the pipe may be too close to the floor pan ... assembly will show what the clearance is ... TAZ
