Found the pics taken Oct. 1988 so 30 years ago next month. Notice the black grill in the ball joint pic. Then a friend convinced me the grill should be silver so I incorrectly painted it silver when I put the front clip back together. made the cover of Musclecar Review in 1990 and I cringe when I look at the silver grill. Tom Shaw stated at the time it was the first real 69 L78 convert. he had ever seen. I hdn't realized it's been 30 years.

JMO, but I like the silver non RS grill on all 69's. But you gotta do what's correct on that car. Glad to see the white stripe go away..

Going through some old pictures and when I stumbled on these it reminded me of your car.
In 2007 I went to look at a car in Shelby twp, MI and he also had this gem sitting in his garage. The story he told me from what I remember was his wife had won it in a raffle that some Jelly Bean company was having, and sadly it was not for sale. Maybe I should stop by and see if he is ready to sell. |
