This attractive 1964 International Harvester McCormick Farmall Cub tractor with International Rotary Mower has been restored and is a true piece of Americana. The International Cub was produced from 1964 through 1979. They were built in Louisville, Kentucky. A total of 23,421 were produced over the fifteen year span. This example is serial #224759 which is one of the first ever produced and one of only 406 produced in the 1964 model year. The 1964 serial numbers started at #224704 and ended at #225109. In 1964, the McCormick Farmall Cub was restyled with a new squared-off grill then given a new yellow and white 2-tone color scheme. It was renamed the International Farmall Cub. With a switch in emphasis from agricultural to industrial uses, the Farmall name was dropped in 1967 and the tractor became just the International Cub. In 1975 the tractor was slightly restyled and given more power and called the New International Cub. This example retains its original serial tag which is attached. From the information gathered this tractor was purchased from its original owner by the second owner many years ago. The second owner primarily used it to cut grass and small fields. The second owner had the engine and transmission rebuilt. It was purchased recently by its third owner who lives in Galway, New York. The tractor was in very good original condition and retained its original mowing deck. It was the perfect candidate for a light restoration. Since the tractor was in really good mechanical condition the plan was to do more of a cosmetic restoration. It was completed in 2023 and used a few times to cut grass to ensure everything was in good working order. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased it from the third owner in July of 2023 and this is the first time we’ve listed it for sale.

This tractor is in overall very nice condition and presents well. It’s not a concours restoration but definitely a nice restoration. It retains its original hood and 7.5 gallon fuel tank which were stripped, straightened and repainted in white. The paint applied to the sheet metal is beautiful and was recently detailed to a glossy shine. A new hood ornament and decals have been added. The original front grill was painted white to average standards. The remaining parts of the tractor were painted yellow to average standards. It was outfitted with a new black framed seat which is comfortable and tilts to access the battery. The new front headlights and rear headlight are in working order. The front wheels were painted white and are wrapped with new Hi-Run 4.80-12 tires. The rear wheels were painted silver and are wrapped with new Alliance Farm Pro 324 8.3-24 tires.

This tractor runs and operates very nicely. The original International Harvester 1.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine was prepped for painting. Some of the tune up work included new spark plugs, fresh oil and carburetor rebuilding. The engine runs very smooth and is very quiet through the header pipe and new muffler. The engine is coupled to a 3-speed sliding gear transmission. It’s powered by a 12-volt system with generator charging system. It’s equipped with a fully functional International Rotary Mower 60” mid-mount which is in excellent working order. The mower model number is #C-3 and the serial number is #6608. It’s also equipped with manual steering and a two-wheel drive system.
