Default '59 Corvette, #s 2x4 270hp 283, 1 of 142 Big Brake optioned cars

Wow - cool car, and not something you're likely to see at a local car show. I'd love to know if there's any race history here.

I don't know anything about '59 Vettes but that one sure looks good.

Is it supposed to have such big tires and so much ground clearance?

----I believe the original size was 6.70-15. Not exactly sure what size I'm looking at. Height probably relates to new springs, but that's not an insurmountable problem. I like the car. Everything a racing 59 would have been delivered with, without the troublesome injection for those who don't know how to deal with injection (that would be me)…...Bill S

Bill,

What's you opinion on value of that car based on the information provided?

Thanks, Jim

----Jim,,,I'll bet the guy who sold it at BJ was unhappy! This is just me, but I wouldn't feel bad being in that ride for $60,000, maybe a drop more, if the car is real and restored correctly. Paperwork would be cool as well but not a lot of 62 on down Corvettes have much......Bill S

----Just noticed the "numbers matching" comment and that doesn't leave me all warm and fuzzy! There's a picture of the pad but its inconclusive and no pictures or mention of the casting #s!
